This question is from a newbie on the scene so excuse my ignorance! Just out of interests sake are there any female uke Luthier's? Whether that be famous or for fun.

Toni Maloon makes Anakoneke ukes out of San Francisco and she is wonderful!

Fabulous Canadian luthier Shelley Park makes ukuleles under the Moodyville label.

In addition to the names mentioned above, Linda Manzer builds fine Guitars, one of her specials is the "Little Manzer", a Guitar in the size of a Tenor Ukulele. So does Peggy White in Canada. She calls her 1/4 sized Guitar a "Soprano".

There's also Char Mayer. She's one of the three luthiers of Mya-Moe Ukuleles.

Rather more local to you there is Lucy Wise who sometimes helps her father Scott Wise in his Margret River workshop. I think Lucy is in Melbourne these days.
