Aloha ukulele peeps
I would really appreciate any thoughts on this topic please
Once a top has been glued on, is there any way to remove it and switch tops without warping or damaging the ukulele?
much thanks, Art

I'm sure that it is possible to safely remove the top, depending on the glue used to adhere it. I'm no expert, but if you tell what adhesive was used, I'm sure you'll get the answers you want. Also, were the sides bound?

Even without knowing the glue, a router set to a knats whisker of the thickness of the top will do the job without damaging the sides. A bit rough on the old top but.

It can be done. Sometimes it has to be done. Pics in link are not for the feint of heart, more pics in adjacent blog posts of the progress.

I know I should say it, so I will - try and get it right in the first place. If you really have to, I hot knife will soften most glues except epoxies and urea formaldehydes...
