I'm building a concert banjolele for my daughter's 17th birthday, and have reached the point where it's time for the critical installation of the nut and saddle. Do you guys glue those in place, use a double sided tape, hot glue, or just let the string tension hold them? Other?

The saddle isn't usually glued in place. Most builders use a drop or 2 of superglue (CA) to hold the nut in place: it can be easily knocked off if required.

When I am happy with the position of my banjolele saddle I mark the position with a fine tip permanent marker. Because they are only held by tension of the strings they can get knocked out of place and marking the spot makes them easier to put back.
