I am going to get my first resonator uke. If you were going to get one, what size would you choose? I have non-reso ukes in soprano, concert, and tenor sizes, but no baritone ukes. I'm torn between getting a tenor, or a baritone? The tenor scale length is probably my favorite, but a baritone would fill the void. So....what say yee, and why?

I'd get a traditional baritone and forget the resonator.

But that's just me...wild as a March hare.

Soprano.

A baritone resonator ukulele would essentially be a tenor guitar. You are going to want to play that with steel strings and geared tuners for best tone. Long nylon strings on a resonator sounds like a bad idea for feel and tone.

Soprano size, on the other hand, works well with the naturally bright and trebly tone of a resonator instrument, even with nylon strings. I've got a few vintage resonator ukuleles and the best sounding one is a soprano that I put a lot of work into getting the correct setup.

Or just buy a vintage National tenor guitar. They are plentiful and not terribly expensive.
