Hi all,

pics added now
a month or so back I snagged a Shinji Takahashi soprano uke, it looks pretty much exactly like a Martin S5 with all the bling/bindings snowflake fret markers and squiggly mother of pearl headstock design,
it's an absolute beauty, not as light as a Martin S3, but built beautifully,
the sound has great character, and is not pingy and bright, but more refined.

I was just wondering if anyone else had a custom Takahashi, this is not a Kiwaya master, it's all hand made by Shinji, no date stamp, but has a label that reads, fine ukuleles for your good life, T's Ukuleles, signed Shinji. T, - poduced/custom
model - CSM-5K

i'd be interested in any info, as I think his customs are very rare.

thanks Mark

Let's see some pics, Mark!

It's a real beauty, you can't see from the pics but the back has a lovely curve to it and the fit and
finish is handcrafted, not cnc machined precision, don't get me wrong, it's beautifully made and hand
crafted, sculpted, and the varnish is glass like, lovely tuners, the MOP is delicately cut and inserted with
back and front and around soundhole,

I have not held a Martin S5, and at £4200 Uk price I don't think I will, it's a shame I don't play soprano much these days
having moved onto Classical guitar and Guitalele, I have to say I was seduced by Shinji's Custom work, and bought this
without a second thought, I'm pretty sure it's a collector piece though.
