I'll allways been curious about the Ohana K-30L. Bax-Shop had a good offer so I ordered one. Overall a very good uke for the price.

positive: beautiful wood grain, sound, very handy in the couch :), intonation.
negative: bad setup: action too high, both at the saddle and the nut.

I lowered the nut and installed a new saddle (actually a bone copy I made of the plastic saddle that comes with a Kiwaya KS-5), luckily intonation and height turned out to be spot on. Changed the strings to worth BT.

Nice uke, the head reminds me of a banjo or a vintage classical.
You'll have to change your signature now ;)

Looks nice.

Is this the soprano-body with the tenor-neck model?

If so, I've always been curious about these. Smaller body in the right-sized case seems like it would be even easier to fit in the airplane overhead...

Is it softer than the full-bodied tenor in terms of volume? (this would be a plus for hotel rooms so as to not inspire the neighbors to complain)

Thanks for sharing! :)

Seasonista Rex (jazzbanjorex) has done a number of videos with his SK 30-L, including a sort of demo. A "jazzbanjorex ohana" search in Youtube will give you lots more. Gotta try that instrument someday!
