Im sorry if this has been covered, I couldn't find an answer.

I have been looking at sourcing a concert fretboard jig..

There are 2 scale lengths available, so I am a little confused.

15" and 14.7"

Which is which and why etc...? I thought the standard was 15"
disappointingly, I received a cocobolo concert scale fretboard which I thought was cut wrong compared to my others: so I destroyed it in a grump!

It now appears it was cut at 14.7 scale

anyone?

There are no standard scale lengths, just rough approximations. Around 13 ins = soprano, around 15 concert, around 17 tenor, around 19 baritone. But then some like to classify by rough body size.

If you think about it, who *could* set a standard?

The difference in scale lengths arises from using various sections of the guitar scale templates to cut the fret slots for some builders, and are thus just approximations of something close to 13", 15" 17" and so on. Others like myself have dedicated fret slotting templates that are exactly what we intended.

The world has far too few 16" scale ukes. :)
