Hey. What type of reamer do I need to install peghead tuners?

The reamer you need is the same type a violin maker would use to install wooden pegs in a violin peg head. You can purchase one through Stew-Mac. They are not cheap. Do not use the hardware store style reamer, the taper is wrong.

Get the kind that has cutting edges on one side and smooth back. With that kind you can easily make minor adjustments to the hole location. As in if you pilot hole is a little too close to the edge of your headstock by doing the majority of your reaming away from that edge you cam move the hole center over a little.

This (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Violin-Viola-Peg-Reamer-1-30-Taper-Titanizing-Violin-Reamer-FREE-SHIPPING-TO-US-/321342603068) looks like a decent one for not too much money. I got one from Grizzly a few years back that looks just like it.

Thanks for the link. I may just bring it in to my luthier and have him install ... will cost about the same as buying the tool, and he's more skilled at filling the leftover holes. Thanks again!
