Is there a reason why they don't make them? Kanile'a and Kamaka do, why not KoAloha? Have they ever made them does anyone know?

They have made a 6 string.
But I am not familiar with an 8.
Have you emailed the company directly?

Don't recall KoAloha ever advertising an 8 string. They did a 6! Best bet would be to call them to see if it is an option.

No, I don't think so. They have made two different versions of a six string - the Imaikalani which is a traditional six. And the D-VI that Paul and Daniel Ho did together that is like a guitar capoed at the fifth fret.

I have the six string (which is stunning) but just wondered why they stopped there.

Looky what I found at the Grammy Museum. I wish I would have known what I was looking at, I would have taken a better picture.
