Here's a sound sample of my brand new Hora baritone, a solid mahogany instrument. Twelve frets to the body, very cool sound, look and feel...I liked it instantly. These instruments are made in Romania, and they are probably the cheapest solid instruments you can find. Cheap as in 'inexpensive'...the workmanship is excellent indeed.

Very nice. Do you know if they sell into North America?

Nice selection Doc. When I checked out your video I saw this,https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7lbPMyTwFI and thought I had found a kindred spirit, as I love my dGBE tenors too. I can't play as well as you, but I do enjoy the smooth sound of the G tuning and re-entrant makes it sound like a Ukulele. I'm considering changing my Bari to re-entrant too, but I like the linear too.

Very off topic, but nice avatar Booli ;).

Thanks for this - I've visited the Hora factory - I go to Romania often for holidays. My friends have bought some guitars and a mandolin from there, and been impressed by the quality for the price. I was wondering if it was worth trying to get a ukulele next time they visit.

Go right ahead, Iulia! Good luck!

Verified they are of solid wood? Amigo was made in Romania I think - never heard a good word about them. Glad the Hora is a good one.

Congrats! Who knew you could get an ukulele from Romania?
