I will be changing the strings on my Cocobolo concert uke soon, as I am wearing the original Aquila whites out.
Does anyone have any experience with other strings on a cocobolo?
I have a set of Aquila Lavas, and a set of Worth Browns.
Which?
Neither? Something else?

I have Southcoast on mine in D tuning. I much prefer the feel over the Aquilas. The tone is brighter which is good in that it is different from my other ukes but it does lose some of the warmth that the Cocobolo is capable of. If you want a warmer tone, I'd say try the Worths next.

I have tried Lavas in both my cocobolos. The tension was way too high for me on my tenor so they came off pretty quickly (replaced with Southcoasts). The lavas replaced Southcoasts on my concert and they are still on it as I really like them. They are going to be brighter than WBs, but I like that as they added a little volume and punch to the uke. I have never put WBs on my Cocobolo so I can't tell you how they directly compare.
