Powered Mixer Help Needed

Anyone own a Behringer PMP1000 powered mixer?

I am thinking about buying one and wanted to see if anyone had good/bad experience with it.

ive always seen behringer as an "economy" brand. and everytime ive ever inquired about them from people with experience, theyve always told me to just go with a better brand.

if you are just using it for personal use inside the home, it wouldnt be bad. but judging by how much youre willing to spend, and how many channels that model has, it looks as though it will be used to perform with. so why dont you save up the extra cash for a mackie or yamaha?

are you looking to put together a PA system? is it just you or are you with a band?

bottom line, i wouldnt mind having the behringer as a backup, but as a main system, i would go either mackie or yamaha.

What drew me to this was the weight, 15lbs. It is some kind of newer technology. I have a couple of Behringer unpowereed mixers as input to two 300 watt amps and a separate reverb unit. The entire set up weighs over 50 lbs. The mixers have performed well, my back not so well.

Go with the Carvin XP800 for a little bit more. Carvin gear stands up to a lot more abuse than Behringer. Same 8 channels as the Behringer (yeah, I know they claim 12 channels, but look at it closely) and 3 power amps, instead of 2:

If you were as lucky as me to live 15 miles from the Carvin Factory, you could test before you buy. Also, look on http://www.daddys.com for used gear. They are closer to your area. Ric

Wow, that is nice, I just have to figure out how to pay for it. I found a PMP1000 delivered for less than $300 this looks like $500 delivered. Very nice, Thanks for the info Ric.
