Then again, I'm all for buying things that bring happiness, even if it's only a temporary state. What I try not to do is to hoard all the things that once brought happiness, but that no longer do (hedonist adaption). So, I'm fine with buying 20 sandwiches and only eating two, but I would prefer not to keep around the remaining eighteen for years.
