Cruising CL and saw this. It's not exactly on my way to Elk Grove (going tmrw) but looks interesting. Looks like solid wood and kind of like the Tangi tenor someone recently bought. anyone recognize it?

Thanks

Bruce Wei, from Viet Nam. No question, I have 5 of them.

$200 seems like a lot of money to me for a Bruce Wei uke, given that other folks here on UU have paid MUCH less.

Unless it was a custom build, I think that price is somewhat high for that one.

Lots of these floating around that folks over paid for. May or may not be a good deal, but it certainly won't be in the Tangi's ballpark. If you inspect carefully, including the setup, and play it for a few minutes, you will have a better idea. Certainly would never buy this "sight unseen."

Looks like a Whamo ukulele circa 1990

Thanks! That does seem like a lot for a Bruce Wei. I think I will pass on this one. Looks very nice though.

$150 is not crazy for a Bruce Wei tenor with a sound hole inlay. If you are close go listen to it you might be surprised. My Wei Wei tenor sounds every bit as good as my Koaloha concert sonically. The shipping from Vietnam raises the cost of these ukuleles.

That is definitely a BW ukulele.
