i want to learn guitar

hi,
I'm thinking of taking guitar lesson. but I'm not sure which guitar to choose to learn. I know nothing about guitar. I want to learn a classical guitar, but my friend told me that it's better to learn acoustic guitar.
What is the difference between acoustic and classical guitar? My purpose of learning guitar is to play songs like pop songs and carry it around whenever i travel. which guiar suits me more? can both be used to play any type of songs?

Think about getting an acoustic/electric, that way, you can kinda learn all three, as long as you haz the right pedals

I wanna learn too

Maybe I'll get GarageBand....

Classical guitar is made for classical music. However I still use mine, just because I prefer the neck width and the nylon strings. Basically the sound of them.

In the beginning with me I watch choosing an acoustic guitar. These guys go over everything. There are 8 parts

Maybe start with a Baritone Uke they are typically tuned DGBE which is like a guitar.It'd be easier to learn and cooler too.
