Here is another of my latest fun projects, the ULO (oo-low) which stands for a Ukulele Like Object. These ukes are meant to be fun to play, have a unique look and have a good sound with excellent setup and playing action. This a pineapple shape soprano size, number 009. It has a 13 3/4" playing scale and a soprano size body. The body is constructed of a single piece of 3/4" pine, a quality one piece solid Western red cedar top plate and a 1/4" plywood back. The neck does have a 1/4" diameter steel truss rod for strength and stability. It has only 1 small top braces and a bridge patch. The bridge is the string through type and is made of mahogany with a ebony saddle and nut. The fingerboard is Koa, with standard uke frets, 14 to the body which offers easy playing and accurate intonation. There are plastic dot position markers at the 5,7,and 10th frets, white side dots included. The body thickness is 1 1/16", and the total length is 22 1/2". The finish is one coat of white sealer paint and one coat in Orange color. The tuners are Grover friction type, they work well. The strings are Worth brand. Your complete satisfaction is guaranteed. I believe its a lot of uke for the money. No case but I will double box for safe shipping. Made in the USA by D. Heilman of Black Bear Ukes. $20 shipping in the USA lower 48 states. Payment by money order, personal check or bank draft only, no Paypal. Email me if you need more information. Thanks for looking.

He isn't kidding with regard to set-up, playability and sound! I am loving my ULO more and more every day. Super light, comfy, loud, and sustaining.

A yup, wish I had the dough for this one because a pineapple is the only shape I don't own. My ULO has a very loud vintage sound and I'm loving it for old timey music. My cat loves it too...View attachment 93401
Cute cat and ukulele Janet. I bought a ULO for my grandson (#3 I think), and it is a blast to play. The quality and playability are way above its' price point.

Great quality of sound and playability. Takes well to frailing, and is easy to hold. I am hankering for the concert size now...Just don't have the funds at the moment. Actually, I am pretty sure I have ULO#003. Check the back of the headstock for the number if you want. Not that it matters at the moment, enjoy the ULO!

I'll have to ask my grandson.........if you have #3, he must have #2.

The difference in a standard soprano uke and soprano pineapple uke is that the pineapple is a bit fuller and more mellow in sound because of the larger top plate area, the same goes for the ULO. Thanks bonesigh for your performance on the other ULO thread, very nice and I'm sure the cats love it too.
