Sorry it is Facebook and difficult for non-members to view. This link it the first photo in the series. Clicking the left side nav arrow will show newer images. And as is typical of luthiers, other jobs are interspersed along the timeline and are also interesting.

The design was a collaborative effort - I came up with the features and woods and Mark made structure and build decisions based on manufacturability and solid instrument design needs. This instrument is used very frequently in performances and is holding up very well. Strings are usually Aquila Reds except the A string - the Aquilas don't last long in that position so I have a flourocarbon (fish line) there.

have you ever had an issue with your neck and tail blocks due to their grain direction?

Never had a problem with the neck - the sides are showing signs of humidity (lack of it - we're in a desert). I've purchased some humidifiers and hope that solves that problem.

I added a MiSi Trio to my new Kamaka HF-3 uke (ripped out the MiSi air as a lost cause) and tried playing it at a gig instead of the Kubiak custom and it sounded horrid. String change is in order. Mark came by the house a few days ago and suggested the humidifier for the custom.
