Anyone played this before? Did you use a distinct strumming pattern?

Any help would be much appreciated!:shaka:

We play this a lot. The strumming pattern we use is D D U U D.

Lyric question for Sloop John B:

What the heck do they mean by

The first mate he got drunk
Broke in the captain's trunk
then he took and ate up all of my corn.

corn? huh?

You're mixing lyrics...the corn line is from another verse that has to do with the cook. The correct line for the verse you're quoting is:

The constable had to come and take him away.

Fair enough. The memory is the second thing to go (I don't recall what the first was).

So what about the corn?

The poor cook he caught the fits
And threw away all my grits
And then he took and he ate up all of my corn
