Any baritone collectors should check this out. I'm no expert, but I think this might be a deal and a half. Rather than post the link here and ruffle any feathers, the item description is below.

Ooh...I have my doubts. Something doesn't look right. I'm no expert on Gibson, but isn't that a later logo? And the truss rod? That rout-out has never had a cover over it. Gibson has way better QC than that.

Not saying it's a fake, but I'd be real uncomfortable.
 
I'd make it into a bass uke in an instant, but have too many already.
 
Gibson only made baritones in 1961-1967, so the dating is way off. They only made one style, BU-1, but with several incarnations. Most of them did have the guitar-like 'open book' headstock, but no truss rod or serial number on the back of the headstock. I'd say it's genuine, but based on the serial number it's more from 1974 or 1975. The pin bridge also has a lot of wear.
