Que pasa? John here with a contest fo yo asses. The premise is simple:
Cover a song originally released in the current decade, from 1/1/2000 until present day, on the ukulele. All skill levels are more than welcome to enter this contest! Post a video of your cover on youtube and put the link in this thread. No videos posted prior to the posting of this topic will be considered. So, I'd like you to say "This is for John's Go 2000's contest" or something at the beginning. I can be flexible on saying that though.
The deadline for entries is 5/31/09 11:59:59pm. I will select the winner and wherever you are in the world, I will ship it to you. No max on number of entries per person.
I had a Mitchell MU-70 as my first ukulele. My impressions were that it was beautiful, but didn't sound very full. Very brittle sound. Decided to change the stock GHS strings, and upon removing the strings, the nut fell out. Long story short, I've been bugging my friend who works there, and the new manager said he'd swap it back. Well as you may know, I now have the love of my life, a Mainland tenor. Having more than one uke would be great, but I love UU, so it's contest time.
I have already switched the stock strings to Aquilas, But I supposed I could include the crappy GHS's it came with? It no longer sounds brittle with Aquilas. It sings! And it's a fine looking uke too...
Oh.. and
I'M YOURS = INSTANT FAIL
