In case you can't read Thai, I'll give you the just of it. A guy comes back to his rural village and finds that it has changed, people are more selfish and money oriented. He starts teaching music to the local kids, encourages them to learn about their culture and heritage and even teaches them things like how to make soap. Now scroll down and watch the video, it's awesome.

Great story and very nice video. It's nice to see all those kids smiling.

The music kinda sounds like 'Amazing Grace'...

Thanks for sharing Mike! :)

Thanks Mike - that's a very moving cover of 'El Condor Pasa' (first video when you scroll down). In fact, they've got their own YouTube channel with 214 subscribers. Here's their cute cover of 'Price Tag': https://youtu.be/vchDgMVu9gM

Hey Mike and coolforcats99 thanks for sharing the videos. They put a big smile on my face, especially the "Price" video. The boy with the "shaker gourds" was really diggin the groove and lovin life.

Thanks. Great story. I had been thinking that the uke would be a great tool to reach young kids in impoverished areas, get them interested in music, give them a hobby, teach them something that would be useful in their development in one way or another, whether it was teaching them a skill, keeping them out of trouble, giving them a social group to belong to, helping them with learning, or just having fun. And one could get some donations or fund it themselves without too much capital and get a lot of ukes for such a group of kids. Just a thought for the future.
