Anybody own the 5 string Ohana Tenor? If so, what are the width between high an log g string. It also looks like the high g is on the outside. I am thinking of converting one of my tenors to a 5 string. Thanks!

At the nut, I would say the grooves for the strings are about 1/16th of an inch apart, on center. High G string is on the outside.

2 mm on the Kala.

But with floppy Aquilas (SuperNylgut high G / Red Low G) that proves too close. The two strings clash in anything but the most gingerly strum.
Need a wound low G and heavy gauge (like 0.025 inch) fluorocarbon high g for that close spacing.

Living Water Strings have a set made for the Ohana 5 string uke. Ken Middleton is a UU member and rep for Ohana, and he developed a great line of uke strings.

Living Waters sets are light gauge. I bought two sets couple years ago.

A 0.036 gauge fluorocarbon Low G has no better tension than an Aquila Red.
The Red sounds better on some instruments, until it snaps.
