That should work for a re-entrant tuning. Heavier strings generally take a little more compensation. So the high G requires compensation that's more like the A string.
Switching that to low G probably wouldn't work well.
 
Seems like there's too much compensation, I would guess the intonation would be too far off.
 
If you are buying this instrument I am guessing your not buying it for it's musical prowess. Just sayin'. But I do like it, I break into a big smile everytime I look at it.:)
