Kinnard Concert Series Two (now with a sound sample)

Sold Thanks UU!

Hey Gang,

I feel a bit guilty putting this up for sale, since I only just received it this summer. It's incredibly well made and plays like a dream and to my eyes, looks fantastic. Unfortunately, it just doesn't have the sound I'm looking for. I'm more into barky sopranos, this one is more mellow and beautiful sounding. Very nice indeed, but again, just not right for me.

Apart from some very tiny strum marks, it's in dead mint condition. I doubt it has opened up fully yet. I really haven't played it much at all.

It has a Mahogany neck, back and sides and a Cedar top, that is stained to match up better with the mahogany. I said I was going for a vintage violin look and I think John nailed it.

It has an ebony peghead plate and compound radius fingerboard. No markers or logo on the fingerboard or peghead plate, but there are side position markers. Faux tortoise binding with custom purfling. Black UPT tuners.

15" scale length. 1-3/8" nut width and 42mm string spacing at the saddle.

Semi gloss finish. I would say it's slightly more on the matte side. Very nice and smooth.

Currently strung with Worth Clear High G strings. Comes with a Crossrock hard case that fits it like a glove. Case in like new condition as well.

This uke is located in Europe, but I'd be happy to ship it anywhere. To make things easier, I'm putting it for sale in US Dollars, but I would like to get payed in Swedish Kronor via PayPal. PayPal has a small currency exchange fee if Kronor is not your local currency. Free shipping within Europe, additional 50 US Dollars for shipping anywhere else. If there is any custom charges for importing it to your country, that will be on your end as well.

I'm asking Pending US Dollars for this. Would be willing to discuss a trade for a vintage Martin in Koa or a vintage National.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Cheers,
Max

UPDATE!
I did this quick recording. It's the first time I tried this and the first time I'm using Soundcloud, so let me know if it doesn't work for you. It's Remco's (ukulelezaza) arrangement that I'm butchering. https://soundcloud.com/user-193704987/kinnardsoundsample-wav/s-qWsSb

Beautiful! Do you have Kevin's sound sample, (or any other sound sample?) I don't think I've heard what a Kinnard Mahogany concert sounds like.

I never received a sound sample from Kevin, but I think I just managed to do a sound file myself. Check out the first post that I just edited.

Cheers,
Max

So you guys could hear it too, success! :D Thanks for the compliments.

Wow, very impressive playing. It sounds fantastic, which is no surprise to me given it's a Kinnard!

Thanks Eddie. It's a nice uke for sure.

Thanks newvenice. It's Elizabeth Cotten's Freight Train. Cheers,
Max

Freight Train? Peter Paul and Mary. Oops! Too late.

I wish I could "butcher" a song like that. :)

Pending...

Cheers,
Max
