Hey guys:

wonder if you could help please, have just picked up the below ukulele, but can't find a lot of information out about it, other than some info on the ukuleleman website. its a weird one with 11 frets to the body, the top and back seem to be solid wood but are single pieces not book matched. the scale is a tenor but it is an unusual shape, long and shallow. the headstock decal is placed on left handed, and the bridge shows come compensation to show it was intended to be left handed.

so question being this: any additional background history? and if it is worth something should I shy away from cleaning up the bridge to be strung right handed? hope that makes sense.

p.s. have no idea what it sounds like as strings are still on order!

Made in The UK by John G. Abbott Sr, a Banjo and guitar make from about 1890 to 1936. The most famous of the Abbott line was probably the Monarch, which was favored by George Formby. His son Jack also made Banjo Ukes up until the late sixties
