Hello,

I got some Southcoast strings per the recommendation of HMS for my Pono. They come with ball ends which would be fine except I need to tie around the pickup. Has anyone done this? Did you just tie it with the ball ends on? Seems like that would take some fiddling.

Any help appreciated.

Edit: Sorry I meant pickup not amp.

Pardon my ignorance but what is a Kemona Bridge amp? Ball end strings are used on bridge pin bridges but yu could use them with standard bridges as well.

My mistake. I meant the Kremona pickup (https://www.stringsbymail.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=7481&catargetid=120229430000044924&cadevice=c&gclid=CJPA0L2W89ACFUUdaQod3roJTg) that slides under the strings where they tie at the bridge.

OK, the ball ends are there to work with pin bridges. As you have a tie bridge and are using the Kremoa pickup then simple cut the ball ends off.

Just want to make sure that is OK due to the wound strings. Thinking about it, I usually trim the excess string at the tuners so I suppose it should not be an issue.

Thanks
