What will happen when I put concert strings on my tenor as far as FEEL and SOUND goes?

Uke: Koaloha tenor
Current strings: Koolau tenors
Replacing with: Koolau concerts

*Yes, I know these are not the most pop. strings, but I really like them right now..

It should work fine. The difference in tension between ukulele strings within the same brand are minimal. (Assuming there even is one.. Sometimes strings for different sized ukuleles only change the length of the string, not the guage (diameter) of it so it really is just a shorter pice of plastic.)

Well, I changed them out! (Koolau tenor stings for Koolau concert strings) Maybe I am just imagining things, but the playability seems to have improved. Hammers and slides are now more pronounced. Volume seems to be about the same.

I am figuring that this might be the reason:

Koaloha frets are notoriously a bit higher than those found on other companies' ukes. With high tension strings it is more difficult to push the string down and slide over a larger fret...or "bump". Now with strings of less tension, the string can be properly pressed. Uhhh?

They ARE different diameters for Koolaus..... Try look:
