i was wondering if anyone knew the chords for "After Tonight" by Justin Nozuka. Shawn Megofna did a cover on youtube and the only chords i could get from that is D and F#m.

URL of Shawn Megofna's cover---->http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arMeimw0LNA

please and thank you.

I think what Shawn was using was:

D (2220)
F#m (2120)
Em (4432) - sometimes he might be using G (4232) instead
F#m_high (6654)
Bm_high (7675)
Bm (4222)
F#m7 (6657)

There’s something in your eyes (D, F#m)
Is everything alright (D, F#m)
You look up to the sky (Em, F#m_high)
You long for something more darling (Bm_high)
**repeat chord progression for rest of verse

Chorus:
I know that after tonight (Bm)
you don’t have to look up at the stars no no no no (F#m, Bm)
I know by the end tonight (Bm)
you don’t have to look about the stars (F#m, Bm)
And I know that if the love is alright (Bm)
you don’t have to look up at the stars (F#m, Bm)
no no no no (G, F#m_high --> F#m7)

-------------------

But I think what Justin uses in his recording is more like:

Cm (5333)
Gm (3231)
Fm (5543)
G#_high (5346)
Bb (3211)
G# (1343)

Intro: Bb, G#, Bb, G#
There’s something in your eyes (Cm, Gm)
Is everything alright (Cm, Gm)
You look up to the sky (Fm, Gm)
You long for something more darling (G#_high)
Give me your right hand (Bb, G#)
I think I understand (Bb, G#)
Follow me and you will never have to wish again (Fm, Gm, G#_high)

Chorus:

I know that after tonight (Fm, Cm)
you don’t have to look up at the stars no no no no (Gm, Cm)
I know by the end tonight (Fm, Cm)
you don’t have to look about the stars (Gm, Cm)
And I know that if the love is alright (Fm, Cm)
you don’t have to look up at the stars (Gm, Cm)
no no no no (Bb, G#)

Either way, it's a pretty sweet song. Very Mraz-ish.

Wow. How do you come up with those crazy chords, PMS? I have a hard time just fingering them all, since half of those are unorthodox voicings of the chords. But very nice work, thank you very much for posting them.

woah pure that a great way to write the fingering for chords. That really helped =D. Thank you so much.

So I found the chords, but they are guitar chords....
The guy who posted it didnt know what 3 C chords were, so he named them C1, C2, C3.... These are the Chords to do that fancy slide....
But alot of the chords are on here, so hopefully this'll get you started...

Forgot to mention, the Guitar chords work with the uke fine....
Just use standard GCEA Tuning and it'll sound dead on...

This is the third thread you've posted this on...can we settle on one? My suggestion is this one, since it seems to be the most complete:

As Mick Jagger so eloquently put it, "You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometime you just might find you get what you need."

Well, in the video, his tuning is all off. That probably explains it. If you want to know how to tune it to his intonation using a chromatic tuner, set it to 445 on the calibration and do D-tuning (F# B D# G#).

B - 5433
Bb - 4322
A - 3211
Dbm - 2210
Abm - 2000
Gbm - 0231

B/Bb/A A/B B/Bb/A
Dbm Abm Dbm Abm
Gbm Abm A A
Bb/B B/Bb/A A/B B/Bb/A
Gbm Abm A A
Gbm Dbm Abm Dbm x 4
