in Seattle [STRUM, Seattle's Totally-Relaxed Ukulele Musicians], we've pirated a parody of "Hallelujah", I believe from a New Zealand uke group, made a few adjustments and enjoy singing and playing it at our weekly song circles.

Please email me at ( rohiguchi@seattleschools.org ) for a pdf AND an MP3 of "Ukulele [Hallelujah]", you might enjoy it :)

keep uke'in',

PS I've written in an alternate wording for line 4 on the pdf as it might be uncomfortable for some of us, as written :) ["i'm going to Hell to play my ukulele" to 'I'd rather play my Heavenly ukulele' :)]

Thanks. I don't use FB, but downloaded your tab. Looks like fun to try!

Hi joyful uke,
You don't need to be on Facebook to view my page.

Here's our Hallelujah Ukulele version we've been singing for a few years.

HallaUkulele (KaraUkey C,Am,F,G,Em,G7)

[C] [Am] [C] [Am]
I [C] heard there was a [Am] secret chord,
I'm [C] pleased to say cause [Am] you looked bored.
With [F] me playing all the [G7] same music [C] to ya [G]
It [C] goes like this the [F] fourth, the [G7] fifth,
The [Am] minor fall the [F] major lift.
On [G7] this magic thing, they [Em] call a
Uku[Am]lele
Uku[F]lele
Uku[Am]lele
Uku[F]lele
Uku[C]le[G]ee[C]le [G] [Am]

You [C] thought I was wrong but you [Am] needed proof.
You [C] heard me playing [Am] on the roof,
And the [F] beauty of the [G7] music
Over [C] threw ya [G]
[C] You tried to say you [F] didn't [G7] care
But [Am] you really thought [F] it's just not fair
To [G7] get those sweet sounds [Em] from a
Uku[Am]lele
Uku[F]lele
Uku[Am]lele
Uku[F]lele
Uku[C]le[G]ee[C]le [G] [Am]

Well [C] I know that it is [Am] very small
But [C] I also know it can [Am] stand real tall
And [F] the time has come to [G7] really sock it [C] to ya [G]
There's no [C] need to cry, you'll [F] be all [G7] right
You [Am] are someone, who's [F] seen the light
It's a [G7] sweet and it's a [Em] pretty
Uku[Am]lele
Uku[F]lele
Uku[Am]lele
Uku[F]lele
Uku[C]le[G]ee[C]le[G] [Am]

I [C] see that uke in your [Am] embrace
I [C] can see the pleasure on [Am] your face
How the [F] beauty of the [G7] music over [C] came ya [G]
And [C] now you've joined the [F] happy [G7] throng
You [Am] help me now to [F] play this song
And [G7] from your case you [Em] drew a
Uku[Am]lele
Uku[F]lele
Uku[Am]lele
Uku[F]lele
Uku[C]le[G]ee[C]le [G] [Am]

And [C] now you know that [Am] secret chord,
I'm [C] pleased to say that we're [Am] in accord
And [F] I'm not just [G7] playing music [C] to ya [G]
It [C] goes like this the [F] fourth, the [G7] fifth,
The [Am] minor fall the [F] major lift.
And [G7] yes I'd say it's [Em] worth a
Halle[Am]lujah
Halle[F]lujah,
Halle[Am]lujah,
Halle[F]lujah,
Halle[C]luu[G]uu[C]jah [G] [C] [C]

Rod, we've been practicing this one....doesn't make us uncomfortable at all!

It's such a simple song but I find it very satisfying to play.
