Am trying to source some spring steel in the U.K. For a bending blanket and the prices are crazy! I didn't realise it was so expensive for two pieces. I may have to get stainless steel and just replace it when it looses its form. I have found that for £6 a sheet! Or get it from the states and suffer the import. That would still work out cheaper!
£216 for two 6" by 36" spring steel sheets!

when stuff like that happens to me it's usually a sign to do things a different way.
I'm in the States, so I don't really know much about the import problem.
McMaster-Carr is rarely the cheapest place to buy something, but they have really quick turnaround on their orders.

Shipping and duty would have to be truly astronomical to get up to the prices you were quoted.
A quick search found these people recommended as willing to supply small quantities.
