Concert Ukulele Neck

Hi UU, just wanted to share some progress I've been making recently on a concert uke neck. I am going to post some pictures and would love any feedback.



I am using Mahogany for the neck and a cool piece of maple for the head plate.

I chose the head plate mainly because the figuring on it looks like the letter M and I thought it'd be a nice nod to my last name.

Looks like good progress so far. I don't build concert size ukes, but is the neck really that short? It seems so short... Yes the 'M' will be cool.

Is it only the top half of a scarfed neck?

Thanks for the input. It's a Concert sized neck that will meet at the 12th fret.
