Im currently using Daddarios custome extruded strings with a wound D and G string. I use a flat pick when I play, and when I pick on my D and G strings I love the tone, because theyre wound and they give that 'steel string" tone.

However, the two bottom strings are vastly different in their sound. And I dont get the tone out of them that id like. I was looking for suggestions on wound strings for a B and E string on a baritone uke. Maybe there are a set of wound strings out there? Or maybe you guys have some suggestions on gauges that I could look for? I can order silver wound from daddario?

Thanks for any and all help

Both Magma and Guadalupe offer custom 'microwound' string sets.

IIRC, Southcoast also has some 'all-wound' sets for tenor and baritone.

My Brunswick baritone came fitted with GHS strings, D & G wound, B & E black nylon.

I've moved the D string "over" one slot, fitted a guitar E string and retuned the instrument GDAE. The three original GHS strings still sound perfectly balanced and fit in with the bass string nicely ... just for reference, my pick is a Dunlop nylon .73mm

YMMV :music:
