Why soprano, concert and tenor are C, and bariton is G tuning?

This is frequent asked question by beginners. Hence we think it here this time.

We have harmonics (left figure below) on strings. 1/2, 1/3, 1/4...... They produce harmonics. 2/3 is perfect 5th. 3/4 is perfect 4th. They resonance well. Violin family is perfect 5th tuning. Ukulele family is perfect 4th tuning (including guitar and double bass). In violin, when I play G string (green on the right figure below), rest of the strings are open and they have perfect 5th relationships, they resonance each others. This produce very nice violin sound. I play on G string but other 3 strings work too for resonance. We have same resonance on our ukulele with perfect 4th tuning.

And if we tune them C and G we have this resonance on whole instruments (figure below). If I play soprano G string, the rest of the open strings resonance. Next pineapple are all open strings, hence they resonance too, because they are same C instruments. Even all of the open strings of baritone (G instruments) resonance because she has perfect 5th relationship between C instruments.

Hence we have C and G tunings in string instruments and we have nice resonance.

Pineapple is just a body shape, not another ukulele scale....
