Last night we had the intense pleasure of going to my 2nd Tommy Emmanuel concert. A young guy named Andy McKee opened for him, he was a little to rock and roll (loud) for me at first, but then he grabbed another guitar and calmed down. Both of them had fan fretting and he played two different tunings.
Tommy was an absolute gas. He paid homage to the great Chet Atkins, who was his mentor. His 1st tune was a Doc Watson song.
He stayed late to autograph his newest CD for us, and I got a photo with he and Andy. Darn thing is blurry though.
He reminded me why he is my favorite guitarist in the world.

I am envious! I love Tommy. Songs that he and Chet made together are classic.

As far as the photo, I guess you'll just have to go see him again to get a better pic.

Was it a small venue setting?

It was average size, so he did two concerts. We listened to the CD today, he had done only a couple songs from it that eve.
