Over the years I've seen ukuleles in a lot of strange shapes. I favor vintage electric guitar shapes but I've also seen Watermelons, the state of Michigan, a Corgi's face a snail, boat paddles...The possibilities are limitless.
Let's see what's out there.98770

I've seen LP and tele shaped ukes, was wondering if there was a Rickenbacker uke, and Googled it..sure enough, there is! Hey, is that Capt. Obvious' brother? :D

Not sure if it's weird enough but here's my Alida ES 330 copy along side my '62 Gibson ES 330. I changed out the tail piece from the 6 string sent with it to a proper four string one and had it professionally setup including moving the bridge a bit for proper intonation. If I decide not to sell it, I may install a couple hi end pickups.

Does a boat paddle count as weird?

I would designate mine as different rather then weird, a custom made mandolele to which I added the tailpiece and extra fret markers.

Rob Uker and One Man...thanks. You should try it. It was fun. Except for the fretboard, tedious work there! I plan to build other things and have collected a lot of things to be made into ukes. Now, I just need to find time and energy (:

Hope other keep posting. I love to look at all kinds of ukes...art IMO.

All I could find was one uke. I'm missing something (probably obvious!).

My kids have these.

The pink one is long gone, dreadful cheap rubish, but the Spongebob is still going strong.

Here's a crooked little ukulele, made by Pohaku. Note that even the frets are set at an angle!

Oh, silly me! We've even met and I played some of your ukes. When James Hill and others were in a workshop. I was the nut with the puppets that one group, Earth, something wanted me to pass them out in the audience when they played some children's songs. OH, I have a terrible memory!!!

Here are 2 shots of the Bass'nBari.

I have redesigned the necks and will be finished with them in a couple of weeks. They attach to the body by two machine screws through the heal block. There are 2 pick ups that switch automatically using mercury switches. I will post more with sound samples when it is complete again.

Ray builds some wild stuff.
He was seriously my inspiration for my lunchbox ukulele and my double neck cigarbox.
