Apart from the Italian concertina style ivoroid binding this came out a real treat. The spectacular Oregon myrtle was supplied by Les Stansell and the mastergrade Englemann spruce came from Kootenay Tonewoods. We used Port Orford cedar for the neck and ebony for the bridge, fingerboard and end pin. We are pretty much sold on side ports now and clients have to request NOT to have them :) Who would have thought it? Water-clear gloss cellulose finish on body, satin on the neck.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Engelmann tops on guitars, I assume the same would be the case on ukes. My one-that-got-away guitar was an all solid OM with Engelmann top and American Walnut B&S. Miss her every day. That is just a spectacular uke!

Thanks folks - we are focusing on spruce tops pretty much from now on ('cept for the 50 koa sets I have.....) Our current incarnation morphs into a cutaway next month. Looking something like this:

Well, I know I can't afford one of these, but I think the appropriate word is....
