Can anyone tell me the optimum thickness for soprano top, back and sides? Also, can you recommend an appropriate bending iron. Any recommendations for ukulele plans?
Thanks.

Not an expert, but my 2 best sopranos (1 vintage Kamaka koa, and newer Kiwaya laminate koa) both have thin tops, at 2mm thick. Not sure the top spec on vintage Martins, but would like to know. Here's an older thread on this:

I make the backs and sides .075" = 1.9mm and the tops .0625" = 1.6mm then followed by hand sanding till smooth which will most likely take off a bit more ....but the FP coats will put it back on again ;)
The Scott Antes plans will give you the most info: .But the Grellier is ok as well.
