I haven't been posting outside of sale threads in a long time. Life has a funny way of forcing you to re-prioritize when unexpected things come up. There is a very good chance that I'm going to have to raise funds for some major life events that are coming up (all good things, but also very stressful), so I'm thinking of selling pretty much everything I have. I probably value these ukuleles more than anything I own. Especially the MBU's which are so special.

But I think it's time for me to move on...for now. If you are interested, please send me a PM. When I have time later, I can post more details with photos, etc. Figured I'd just put this out there for now since I'm not sure when I'll have a chance though.

Thank you--I appreciate that. I spoke to Chuck before posting--he's such a wonderful and understanding man. If these do end up selling, I will really miss them

Any chance you need a kidney? I'd be happy to barter one for the LFDM. Maybe throw in an appendix, too.

haha--stop undervaluing your kidney!

The response to this has been pretty overwhelming. I've tried my best to stay on top of it but if I haven't written back to you, feel free to shoot me another note. Most people are interested in the MBU's of course (one has already sold). Several are interested in my LFDM (this one is special bc it has a custom rossette that he won't make again bc he says it was too labor intensive): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwhBS1YZems

And as predicted, nobody seems interested in the custom baritone, even though out of the dozens of top of the line ukes I've played that one is really up there and the craftsmanship is second to none. Here's more about the builder: http://www.nydailynews.com/latino/building-guitars-frequency-article-1.376856 http://www.nytimes.com/1993/02/03/nyregion/master-guitar-makers-are-leery-of-their-art.html

Hey Steve,

Your Uke and THIS VIDEO was my inspiration for building my LFdM ... sorry to see you have to sell it. If anyone is hesitating on this Use ... I wouldn't ... superb tone.

I empathize with your having to let go of some of your babies. I sold or gave away almost all of my instruments last month for health reasons. I kept one guitar, one ukulele and one tenor banjo but haven't opened any of the cases. I have been going through the seven stages of grief as I transition to harmonica and keyboard.
Good luck with your sale but find a way to keep making music. :)

I can't lie--this has been tough, but I'm really trying hard not to be too attached to my things. I found one home for a MBU and the buyer is the perfect person to own it, so I'm quite happy with that. The LFDM is going to be very hard to part with, too, because similar to Chuck, Luis is just the best person and so wonderful. I don't play these instruments a lot and have come to realize that what they symbolize for me is where their true value lies. And hopefully that does go away when I send them off to new owners.

I was kind of hoping that nobody would want it so I could tell myself that I tried to sell it but had to keep it. But I think that is unlikely to happen.... I'm glad that you benefited from the video. Luis is such an amazing person, and I am going to miss this uke a lot

Both MBU's and LFDM have been sold. Baritone is great and I'm willing to part for $1700 plus shipping. Which is a great deal

Hi. I am interested in your baritone and read the articles. Is it still for sale and are there pictures? I apologize if there are and I didn't see them, it was a bit confusing with the 3 instruments.
Thanks

um... welcome to Ukulele Underground, jgalt. Wow. You've been a member for six and a half years, and are just now making your first post! Have you been here and reading posts all of that time?

I lurked and studied and learned for the first six months I was a member. You broke my record and then some!
