Well now this is cool

Kinnard instruments are seriously impressing and beautiful, but this new headstock really isn't pretty, at all. I really, really, preferred his old style.
 
I looked at that and went, COOL. Strings run straight to the machine heads. There is a valid technical reason for that design. Its not just a fashion statement, yet he has imbued his technical solution with a "Style". The technical advantage of strings running straight to the tuners is that it reduces friction over the nut which helps tuning stability if its executed properly.

Was thinking that too. I like it. I would probably like it better if the upper left quadrant of the headstock wasn't there so the headstock followed the line of the tuner. But then you wouldn't have space for a logo and it does have a cool symmetry with the triangle cutouts.
 
Neat idea. I'll really be impressed if he can pull it off with a taropatch :D
