As a bit of background Iím just coming towards the end of my first build (construction phase if not finishing) and having got the bug am starting to plan the next build.

I personally prefer the aesthetic of a radiused upper bout, which has made the dovetail joint I used on my current build much more difficult to implement. Having read through many of the posts on this forum I ended up adapting Ken Timmís method for a compound dovetail joint with limited success.

For my next build I am thinking of using a Spanish heel joint as this looks like it should be easier to implement with the curved upper bout I prefer. However, I am also considering doing a Venetian cutaway and wondered how a Spanish heel could best be adapted for a cutaway (flush with the neck).

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
