So I want to try the Thomastic Infeld CF27 and 30 on my tenor uke. The strings come with what looks like nylon or some kind of wrapping on the ends and a loop.
Do I snip these off before stringing?
Thanks!

I assume these are nylon strings. Is the wrapping a kind of chenille like banjo strings used to have? Whether or not you strip the wrapping off the string will be determined by whether or not the wrapping extends over the saddle. I would remove the wrapping if it goes over the saddle. If not, I'd leave them.

Those are metal strings. Charlie Fukuba, maker of I'iwi ukuleles advised me to cut them off after stringing.

Thanks much! the nylon core was what I was missing - I'm used to fusing shoelaces, climbing cord, etc.
