thinking about making one this summer.just a question really, the plans i have seen and videos i have watched have used 4mm thick top back and sides surely that would effect the sound quality? or is it for structural reasons?

I used 3mm spruce on top and 2.5 walnut on back, which seemed to work ok, I think you could go thinner. I made 2 but not made any more since so I can't say.100577100578
can't remember for sides but probably was about 4mm, looking at my old photos.

Hey! That looks familiar. I'm the person who made it. :)
Let's me know if you have questions about it.
