I just strung up my Aria G-Uke last night in guitar tuning, EADGBE, but with the 6th as Re-entrant E instead of a Bass E.
And I am totally in love with this tuning!
It effectively grants this little instrument with the versatility of guitar, but with Ukulele DNA.
I love how it doesn't sound muddy and gives me the best of both worlds - a hearty bass and the light tinkle of ukulele.
Anyone else tried a tuning like this?
For this tuning, I used the 6th to 2nd strings as the -ADGBE, and an extra 2nd string as the Re-entrant E from a regular tension Classical guitar set.
Guitalele EADGBE = 2nd, 6th, 5th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd. strings of Classical guitar set.
EDIT: I made a quick video to demonstrate how it can sound
