Partly rebuild of the fretboard?

Hello, the matter is I have an ukulele I bought some time ago where the frets are badly installed. As the item is some 60 - 70 years and the fretboard is very thin, I fear it may be destroyed if I start to remove the frets.
Question: simple, how should I treat it?
As you please can see (attached photo) the frets are misaligned and out of place.

So, you want to pull the frets, fill the slots and recut the slots?
Seems it would be easier to replace with a new fretboard.

What is the maker of the uke? Does it have sentimental value?

A. That was the eventual plan.

B. That would alter its looks and appearance rather much.

C. Gretsch without name on the headstock, no sentimental value to me.

Question is if any alterations would be negative for the value?
There is some risk with trying these alterations too... :uhoh:
I thought if you can actually see the misalignment/displacement on an ukulele, it is pretty severe. (?)

I´m sorry to say, but the photo doesn´t give full justice to the misalignment and displacements of the frets.

MY take would depend one the nature of the problem. I try to not fix things if they aren't broke.
