I just came across this tonight:

I did a search on UU and saw someone had one of his "root" instruments for sell in the marketplace in 2014 here, but don't see any other mention. Perhaps he hadn't even made an uke at that point.

It's very interesting playable art with a unique sound, in my opinion...definitely a different kind of ukulele.
 
I actually kind of like them, and I'm pretty much a traditionalist. But I like the snail shape to it for some reason. The price isn't bad at all for a hand made ukulele.

The price definitely does seem very reasonable for what you get. I think the base price converts to something like $450 US dollars.
