A new one from Samantha Muir

I do love the videos that Sam posts and thanks for bringing the above to our collective attention. Maybe the classical stuff isn't to everyone's taste but I love it just as much as strumming and singing 'popular' music.

When checking out the above I noticed that Sam had a slightly earlier video (by a couple of days) that I hadn't seen too: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UXSdXB-sMeM

It's a Polonaise which I now know is a form of Polish (origin) dance, it's in three four time but it's not a Waltz (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polonaise).

I am continually impressed and inspired by Samantha's playing.

Hopefully with enough discipline, study and practice I can emulate at least a small amount of her proficiency and grace with this instrument.

When she shares her gift with us, we are truly blessed. :)

Thanks for both video links! I want to play like Sam!!

Ditto all of this, Jan! I am SLOWLY working my way through her first Carulli book. Slowly progressing, and slowly playing! LOL! But I'm enjoying the beauty of the ringing sounds. When I get it right, that is. :)

Thanks for posting, Booli!

You're doing better than me! I need to get my life organized so I can practice every day! I am a teacher and school is about to start back (plus I am an associate pastor and am also taking a class this fall). SO . . . I NEED time to uke for stress relief!!!!!

I have printed off the books I bought from her and lots of other stuff, so I am ready to start!

The thing that impresses me about Sam and her content is that it is so very portable. Popular music is kind of monolithic, but the classical stuff is fresh...in a way. The intervals are very melodic and lend themselves to some jamming. Obviously, the entirety of what she's playing is beyond me, as well as it is for most people. But if you isolate certain measures and listen...then it gives some great spring-boards for improv.

Sam has some new stuff on her 'channel'. I came across this very slightly older one by chance and at first (the Video doesn't show her playing all of the time) I thought that she was playing a Guitar. Listen and be truely amazed at how beautiful and rich voiced a Uke, and a Soprano at that can, sound. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SvCv5MTspdE
