Found this very interesting free app called Crescendo. It is also available for Windows too.

I just asked the developer to include the ukulele sound samples and fret board icons. We'll see.

How useful is it for ukulele song writers?

Might be a good companion for UkeChordPro

It doesn't seem to have MusicXML import/export, which is a major factor for me. If cost is an issue, I don't think you'll find anything better than MuseScore.

MuseScore is phenomenal. I'd call it the best open source application software (of any kind) I've ever seen.

(Its fretboard user interface is clunky and requires customization to work well with non-6 string diagrams, but it does work. I use it for all our uke group music.)

Wow, MuseScore is an awesome program! Loving it. AND it's both Mac and PC compatible! Yeah!

I mentioned this the other day, but I do most of my work these days with Notion, which is very friendly to guitar (and ukulele) as welll as the easy to use. It is $150, and the iOS app is $15. That's a bargain in the software world (but still $150'more than MuseScore). The ukulele sound is an additional purchase on both platforms.
