Near mint Peter Hurney Pohaku Curly Honduran Mahogany soprano made in 4/26/2012. Incredibly beautiful traditional amber/tobacco sunburst finish. Peghead tuners. Original quality Pohaku case. Glossy lacquer finish. Anyone who knows Pohaku knows Peter builds beautiful Martin like instruments. I'm selling this as I'm recovering from hand surgery and have a new custom soprano that has my complete attention.

Nice.
That wavy grain on the back is striking. Is it caused by the same thing that creates "curl" in koa?

hey ukeinfused, I am not an expert but I believe curl is mostly caused by tension or compression wood (above and below a large branch) that acts as a stabilizing system to handle the branches weight. I think curl in mahogany is probably caused the the same factors as curl in koa. And yes, it is a sweet uke no doubts.

This beautiful Pohaku has sold; much thanks to all for your interest
