I recently bought a 30s/40s Favilla U2 soprano, a great uke. Later, I saw this earlier Favilla on Reverb, from the 1910s/1920s. My 30s/40s model has what looks like rosewood for the nut and saddle, while the much earlier uke has what looks like bone (see listing below). I guess those could have been changed to bone later, but if anything, I'd expect the older uke to have wooden nut & saddle. Any thoughts on that?

My 40's Silvertone has wooden nut and saddle - also likely rosewood. Perhaps because of import issues/war rationing/so many ukes sold that wood was easier to obtain? But, more likely, a different model might have bone versus wood in those same years as an option.
