Check out this uke, with metal attachment...sorta looks like a whammy bar on an electric guitar. What the heck is that thing?

Not a clue. And looks like part of the contraption is missing. There is another hole on the sidewall visible on one of the pictures.

Normally a whammy bar moves the bridge on a SOLID body instrument, which causes the tremelo affect. I can't see in this photo if it is attached to the bridge or not. One thing is certain; over time if you used it to move the top of the instrument it would cause damage to this type of construction.

Cigarette holder? If so, that guy must've been a smokin' good player!
(Okay, that was lame.)

Methinks that with the use of that attachment, this will not end well...

I am offended to see that on a vintage Martin concert uke, but to each his own.

If I had the cash, I'd buy it so I could remove the whammy and then fill the holes, and if no other damage, just play the devil out of that thing...:music:

Looks like a personally made neck strap. I agree with

I'm thinking it could have been part of a one-man band.

Could it be to hold a small mic, or maybe to mount the uke on a stand like I've seen for guitars on stage?
